Mission Statement

Journeymen Wrestling is the home of amateur wrestling in Upstate NY and the Northeast. Certain interpretations of Title IX has left the once fertile Albany, NY area completely barren of collegiate wrestling.  Because Division I, II, and III Collegiate wrestling is non-existent within an 65 mile radius of Albany NY, a profound void exists.  That void needs to be addressed. Journeymen Wrestling is that bridge and the answer to the void.

Our goal is to thoroughly promote, showcase and teach amateur wrestling throughout NY State and beyond. Through our strategic 4 Cs - Camps, Clinics, Clubs, and Competitions (Sprawl & Brawl - Northeast Duals), we've helped inspire athletes second to none!  The combination of these 4 divisions truly makes a thorough and excellent illustration of elite wrestling. Athletes should find it remarkably easy to learn and be motivated by wrestling legends through these four Cs– Seeing is Believing.

Through endeavors like the Journeymen / BRUTE Northeast Collegiate Duals, Journeymen / BRUTE Sprawl & Brawl, John Smith (Oklahoma State) Camp and the Brands Brothers’ Iowa Wrestling Camp, wrestling youth can witness greatness first hand.  Each year more and more of our club members make the transition to college wrestling. We not only teach it, but by showcasing elite level wrestling, our area wrestlers will aspire to be it.
